MOON SIGNS IN ASTROLOGY - What Your Moon Sign Represents in Your Chart | MOON SIGNS EXPLAINED

Last week we talked about Sun signs, so today we’re moving on to Moon signs!

I’ll talk about what Moon signs are exactly, what your Moon sign represents, and how knowing more about your Moon sign can help you in your everyday life and in your relationships with others!

So, I hope you’ll join me for a cuppa while we talk about moon signs!

~

Hey everyone! Welcome back, or if you’re here for the first time, nice to meet you! My name is Ebonie and this blog (and the YouTube channel) is here to help you manifest in the real world! If you’re interested in all things self-development and mindset, I hope you’ll enjoy today’s blog post (and/or watch the video), and consider subscribing to my YouTube channel linked above!

As I mentioned last week, most people know their Sun sign and have an idea of what it means to them. Yet while your Sun sign represents who you are in a more external sense, your Moon sign is all about your emotional, inner self.

Today I will just give you a quick overview on this huge topic, so if you have any questions please do leave them below, and if you’d like to learn more, I’ll have more resources and recommendations at the end of this blog!

So, first of all, how do you know your Moon sign?

~

How to Find Your Moon Sign

The Moon moves quickly through the 12 Zodiac signs, which means that your birth time is needed in order to work out your Moon placement. In other words – you need to do your astrological birth chart in order to determine your Moon sign.

I talked about how to get your birth chart in my astrology resources video a couple of weeks ago, so click here if you’d like to check that out.

Your birth chart will tell you the exact placement of where the moon was at the time of your birth. It will show you what sign it was in, for starters!

Your chart will also show you what astrological house the moon was in, and all the other planets and unique aspects of your chart, too. We’ll go into all of that in later videos!

If you don’t know the exact time of your birth and you have to make an estimate in order to work out your chart, I’d suggest looking into the signs before and after your estimated time and seeing what resonates with you the most.

Once you know what sign your Moon is in, you can start to understand yourself on a much deeper level than your Sun sign. You may even find that you relate more to your Moon sign than your Sun sign in some ways!

What does your Moon Sign represent?

To continue with helping me explain things as clearly as possible, I’ll once again refer to Madeline Gerwick’s book on Astrology in today’s video as well!

Your Moon sign is “your emotional self, your feelings, and your intuition. On your birth chart, the sign where your Moon is placed reveals your emotional nature, memories, habits, and patterns, especially your unconscious patterns. The Moon reveals the intuitive side of your nature and your ability to connect to your “gut feelings” about any issue at hand. The Moon is also associated with dreams and premonitions.

The Moon’s light is not its own, but is reflected from the Sun, and the emotions the Moon rules can change as quickly as that moonlight. Your Moon, in other words, illuminates how you feel.” (Gerwick, Pg. 123 – 124)

Learning more about your Moon Sign allows you to understand your emotional needs, how you process your emotions, your subconscious desires, the areas you feel the most vulnerable to, and what makes you feel safe and supported. If you’ve ever heard of the 5 love languages, your Moon sign may give you some insight into what you need from your relationships in order to feel loved and nurtured.

Your Moon sign is your emotional compass.

Every Zodiac sign processes emotions differently – some are quick and reactive, while others need more time to understand how they’re feeling.

Your Moon sign also reflects how you nurture and comfort other people, not just yourself and your own emotional needs. If your Moon sign is in Taurus for example, you’re likely very trustworthy and affectionate in relationships.

Every sign has certain traits, strengths, and challenges. Whether you’re looking at the zodiac signs from the perspective of your Sun or Moon sign, or from any other planet or aspect on your chart, it all comes down to learning more about yourself.

The more you understand your chart, the more you understand yourself. As one of my favorite astrologers, Jess from Behati Life says, “When you know what you’re working with, then you can make it work for you, and not against you”.

So, now I’d love to know – what’s your moon sign? I hope you enjoyed this short overview of what Moon signs represent!
